In Communion

It was one wonderful morning, I was in my garden admiring all the blooming flowers; the sampaguitas, the verbenas, the orchids. The leaves danced as light breeze blew across them. Two butterflies highlighted my blissful feelings as they flew from one flower to another exhibiting their magnificent color of silky navyblue and red over their satin black wings.

They didn't know how their grandeur added beauty in that cool morning.

I totally forgot the coffee I'm brewing and the bread I'm toasting. The heat of the sun has been tapping my shoulders. My stomach is in rage saying, "It's almost lunch".

And evening passed so briefly...

I was in my garden the next morning hoping to see the butterflies. My heart is pounding fast, my eyes untamed until finally it arrived. But only the blue one this time. I exclaimed, "What a beauty!" Drawing me a smile, I manage to go near him and he's just like teasing me. The more he spread out his wings and so the more my heart melted away. And with all his glory, splendor and meekness, I gently kissed him.

Suddenly the world moves, spinning swiftly like a whirlwind with flashes of bright colored lights. I almost gasp for air. Then slowly and softly everything is in enchantment.

Not uttering a word he began staring at me... and my heart started to soar...

The way you smile at me is more than sunset.

The way your fingers caress my face is like lightning.

The way you look at me is like waterfalls.

All of them drowning me in rhapsody.

And I love the feeling.
A bead of water dropped into a leaf. I thought it was raining. I glanced up the sky but still the sky is blue. Then I realized I am in the garden of my life. I gazed at the butterfly and he's still there with the same glory and splendor. Then it flies on again. Flying farther and farther and farther until he's gone. I breathe deep, closed my eyes and wish that it could comeback and stay. Before long a cool breeze blew upon my face as if murmuring how lucky I am to have seen it.

Another drop of water run across my cheek. Again it wasn't the rain. I sigh and went inside my house. The coffee no longer warm, the bread nearly burnt... He is there somewhere, I know, trying to find the life he chooses. Unaware that his leaving made a river of emptiness in my heart.

As I gazed into my coffee cup, I saw his face... It has the same smile that is more than the sunset, in the same way he look at me like the waterfalls... all of them drowning me in rhapsody.

While the thing I though rain keep on rolling down my face...
